Checksum_errors can be produced by certain USB to Serial Port adaptors.

Please ensure you have the lastest up to date drivers for your system installed before raising a support issue.

There are currently two popular type of USB adaptor, one based on a FTDI chip and the other Prolific.

You can obtain the lastest FTDI drivers from http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm you will require the VCP driver.
